Weekly Report On Israeli Human Rights Violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (11 – 17 October 2018)

Israeli forces continue systematic crimes in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt)

Israeli forces continued to use excessive force against unarmed civilians and peaceful protestors in the Gaza Strip

8 Palestinian civilians, including a child, were killed in the Gaza Strip.

310 civilians, including 62 children, 9 women, 7 journalists and 2 paramedics, were wounded; 11 of them sustained serious wounds. 

Israeli forces killed a Palestinian civilian and wounded 10 others, including a journalist, in the West Bank. 

Israeli warplanes fired 19 missiles in several airstrikes.

Four civilians were wounded, including one sustained serious wounds. 

Israeli forces conducted 104 incursions into Palestinian communities in the West Bank, and 6 similar ones into Jerusalem.

90 civilians, including 9 children and 4 women, were arrested in the West Bank.

10 of them, including 2 children and a girl, were arrested in Jerusalem. 

Israeli authorities continued to create a Jewish majority in occupied East Jerusalem.

A house was demolished in al-Mukaber Mount. 

Israeli forces continued their settlement activities in the West Bank.

A woman was killed by settlers after throwing stones at her husband’s car near Za’atarah Checkpoint, south of Nablus.

Three civilians were wounded after being beaten, and 540 olive trees and grape vines were uprooted and damaged by settlers

5 dwellings, 4 barns, 2 water tanks were demolished while 100 olive seedlings were uprooted

5 Shooting incidents were reported against the Palestinian fishing boats in the Gaza Sea, but no casualties were reported.

Two sibling fishermen were arrested and their boat sustained damage. 

Israeli forces turned the West Bank into cantons and continued to impose the illegal closure on the Gaza Strip for the 11th consecutive year.

Dozens of temporary checkpoints were established in the West Bank and others were re-established to obstruct the movement of Palestinian civilians.
