Weekly Report On Israeli Human Rights Violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (26 July – 01 August 2018)

Israeli forces continue systematic crimes in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) 

Israeli forces continued to use force against Palestinian peaceful protestors in the Gaza Strip.

3 Palestinian civilians, including 2 children, were killed in the southern Gaza Strip.

138 Palestinian civilians, including 28 children, 2 women, a journalist, and 6 paramedics, were wounded; 22 of them sustained serious wounds.  

Fifty-one Palestinian civilians, including 4 children, were wounded in the West Bank; 40 of them were wounded in al-Aqsa Mosque yards. 

Israeli forces continued to open fire at the border areas in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli forces conducted 79 incursions into Palestinian communities in the West Bank and a limited incursion was conducted in the southern Gaza Strip.

90 civilians, including 16 children, were arrested in the West Bank.

38 of them, including 12 children, were arrested in Jerusalem.

Among those arrested persons were 5 journalists; 4 of them work at al-Quds Satellite Channel.

Israeli authorities continued to create a Jewish majority in occupied East Jerusalem.

A new settlement project was opened in Silwan village.   

Israeli forces continued their settlement activities in the West Bank.

A barrack built of tin plates was demolished in Khebit Tuba, south of Hebron, in addition to other graves in northern Hebron.

Israeli settlers set fire to an under-construction house and damaged the contents of another house, southeast of Nablus. 

7 shooting incidents were reported against the Palestinian fishing boats in the Gaza Sea, but no casualties were reported. 

Israeli forces turned the West Bank into cantons and continued to impose the illegal closure on the Gaza Strip for the 12th consecutive year.

Dozens of temporary and permanent checkpoints were established in the West Bank and others were re-established to obstruct the movement of Palestinian civilians.
